When planning a safari to East Africa, Tanzania it is advisable to take one and a half weeks holiday or a week’s holiday if you are not planning to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro where two or two and a half weeks holiday is advisable. Although mosquitoes are not common in National Parks, it is advisable to have repellents. Mineral water is expensive to buy at hotels so your driver or tour guide can assist you in buying from local shops.

Generally visitors take a two or three day relaxing beach holiday on the spice islands of Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia after a thrilling safari adventure at the Parks to unwind before heading back home.

Tipping is recommended at the following rates: US$1.00 for porters, US$ 25.00 to 30.00 for tour guides and US$ 10.00 for camping chefs.

Please remember to bring warm clothing as in areas like Ngorongoro highlands, Kilimanjaro, Kitulo, Udzungwa the climate can get chilly. Sunglasses, sun cream, cap or wide rim hat is important on walking trails and sometimes the trip can be bumpy and dusty in 4X4 safari vehicles. For low budget camping, please bring your own sleeping bag for hygiene purposes.

Regarding viewing wildlife, it is not always possible to see every thing. This will depend on the weather on that particular day and time, maybe the season especially for migration of wildebeest for example. Best seasons to  visit Serengeti National Park are the months of March, July, August, December, February but nevertheless visitors come all the months through out as wildlife is abundant and it can be luck to see all animals in low season. We make sure with our professional guides that our clients see all the wildlife especially the “BIG FIVE” which are Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopard.
